Why buy beef when you can shoot your own cow?

LOL, just think of the neighbourhood kids faces as you shoot 'Bessy'.

I found myself staring at the menu at a coffee shop in a mall once; walked up to the girl and asked, "uhh, do you sell coffee? Y' know... just plain coffee??" It wasn't on the menu!

Reasons people go to Starbucks

1. That one really hot bisexual Barista Girl.

2. If you know how to speak the lingo, that qualifies as a second language in Corporate America.

3. Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Halloween/Thanksgiving

4. Did I mention the hot girl?

Heh. Same thing here. A little coffee shop went in my small town recently. Your choices are espresso, cappachino or latte. No plain old coffee. Cheapest thing you can buy is $3.00 latte.

Doh!

no freakign clue =P
I heard the same argument about beer and liquer but there always seems to be someone willing to drink it.

I've paid $6 for one 12 oz bottle of beer at a grocery store. Of course I have the recipe for it and can make it for $.50/bottle. I just wanted to see if it was worth making.

Starbucks coffee is roasted too long (read burnt) and most pimply 16 year olds make espresso that tastes like burntasspresso. For this reason, I don't go to Starbucks. Now super sweet and creamy Dunkin' Donuts on the other hand...

Stung by criticism of the conditions in which its coffee was grown, the company introduced a line of fair trade products; although the majority of its sales are not certified fair trade, Starbucks pays its producers some of the highest rates per pound in the world. Starbucks is also known for providing even part-time employees with healthcare benefits and stock options.

From Wikipedia. Starbucks is, for all its faults, a fairly socially responsible corporation.

i'm talking plain coffee, which would be a lot cheaper to brew at home instead of buying every day at some coffee shop.

It also tastes better. Starbucks plain coffee is not very good.

I agree Starbucks coffee tasts like shat to me. I usually get my coffee at the local quick trip store.

The people that stop by a shop every morning and drop $3.00 for a cup of java on their way to work are pretty irresponsible though. Not that I don't have my own irresponsible actions...but spending that much a day when you can just buy a 12oz bag of Starbucks grounds for $6.00 and have it make 30 cups of coffee just seems dumb.

Make up coffee pot before going to bed...set the alarm on it to start working when your alarm goes off...shower...get coffee...go to work.

Really, it's quicker and cheaper to brew your own than it is to stop by a place and get it.

But you could say the same thing about going out for lunch, dinner, to the bar, ect. It's just coffee is so ridiculously overpriced compared to what you can do it for on your own and with as little effort.

I don't know where you're getting those prices man. A cup of coffee at Starbucks is $1.55 + tax and a 12oz bag of beans is $10.

I totally agree..if this was 2 years ago. The SBucks around here has greatly improved since but yea, Dunkin makes surprisingly good coffee for the price. I'm talking about the regular unflavored black coffee, no sugar of course.
