why do people put an poll option to 'view results' when there's already a view results button?

I keep seeing polls where people include an extra option of 'just see results' or 'I don't care (view results)', etc. Are they retarded or does nobody see this button? I mean why go through the effort when the button's there by default?

because they don't want to click "view results" every single time they want to re-visit the thread.

Click View Results button.
Leave thread.
Come back.

That's why.

If you only come into the thread once, then clicking View Results is more efficient. Even if you visit the thread ONE more time, it will then have been an inefficient choice because you'll have to click it AGAIN to view updated results. They're not lazy, they're intelligently efficient. This forum software will reload the ENTIRE THREAD just to give you updated poll results.

It'll give you a rough idea of how many saw the poll, and either didn't know, or didn't have an opinion.
