Why do people mow the lawn in shorts?

Mosquitos can't keep up with me on the riding lawnmower.

Deer flies can, but the spray doesn't really help with them, so I just wear a hat.
 
i mow in pants based on the fact that you alwayse get grass on your legs/pants and i dont like ticks on me.
 
At home I wear shorts just cause of the heat.

At my parents cottage, when I get stuck having to mow there, I wear jeans because of the height of the weeds and the poison ivy that grows like mad around there.

Are your legs THAT hairy that ticks will attach there? Also, how tall does your grass have to be to get ticks 😕

I disagree with the flip flops. My dad is missing 2 toes because he lost his footing. Mowers are more dangerous than they look unless you have a perfectly flat property. Just be careful. 😉

yeh steel toe all da way!
but seriously rocks can get thrown from under the lawnmower if its not adjusted correctly and cause some damage to your shin/leg area
