Cheesesteak from Philly isn't that good.

Excuse me?! There is no other place in the nation, in the world, in the universe that can make a cheesesteak sandwhich like the City of Philadelphia and that includes NYC. Period. The Atlantic City area also has awsome places. Its in the bread and you can't get bread for these steak sandwhiches outside of the area. I speak with tons of experience.

You're excused.

cheesesteaks = yummy

but it does a number on my poor tummy. It's either all the grease or the itty bitty steak pieces or something. Probably the grease.

qft, eating an "authentic" philly cheesesteak (from Pat's) was one of the biggest letdowns of my life. still very good, but nothing to set it apart from what you can get anywhere else.

I look down on the rest of the country for not having immediate access to cheesesteaks.
What part of the country doesn't have immediate access to cheesesteaks? It is possibly the #2 most common food in restaurants, following the hamburger. You'd have to live in a very small village not to have at least one restaurant in town that serves them.

Few places outside of PA/NJ serve REAL cheese steaks. The thing of which you speak is a "steak sandwich"* which is a completely different thing. It is in the same family of foods and can be tasty and delicious, but it is NOT the same thing.

* please make little quotey signs with your fingers while reading this

I spent 2 years searching Manhattan for a decent Cheesesteak and never found one. I got excited once in a pizza place when they had them on the menu. When it came on a round roll, I almost cried.

I used to make ghetto cheesesteaks by using cajun roast beef (grilled in butter and worcestershire sauce)...topped w/ provolone on a toasted po-boy bun.

I've never had a "real" cheesesteak. 🙁
