I don't buy it.... the 3dmark score went down for a REASON!!!! (lol "...performance did go up in games"...) Jesus why don't you guys just stop dancing around the issue and spit it out...: YOU THINK 3D MARK IS BROKE.....there, doesn't that feel better now? Is that what you want to say?

I don't know if 3DMark is broken. I'm just citing one instance where I've seen strange numbers. As was suggested, it could have been something with my system. Dunno.

I have seen something similar to this:

As you raise the clocks on your Video Card, you will reach a point where your 3DMark2001se score will begin to decrease as you continue to raise clocks further. This is due to cycles lost to error checking/correction (I think) It is conceivable, that this decreasing performance might not show in a game as it is not using resources as severely as the benchie.....

Of course, what kind of experienced tweaker is going to keep raising clocks when they are observing performance decreases.... well, I guess that would be one who does not understand MHZ just for the sake of MHz is DUMB! (Kinda like Intel)

beyond this, I'm with fkloster, just accept the system is probably hoz0red up and do your format/re-install

Ooops, wrong thread.

If my system can handle the games and apps the way I want them to play. Thats the only thing that matters to me. I really don't care about those bench marks any more. Thats just me.
