why do people like kings of leon?

this "indie" sound is worse than the long island emo crap that came out a few years ago.

Kings of Leon wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the AWFUL lead singer. He can't sing for shit and as it is I can't even bring myself to listen to their music, the voice is grating it makes me physically angry to hear it.

eh... i dont like them for some reason either. they actually aren't that bad, but that "indie" sound really grinds my gears 🙁. i do actually like a few of their songs. good lyrics.

This. The music isn't bad. It's just the singer. When I heard the song "Use Somebody," I thought it was some new band doing a crappy cover.

Never heard of Kings of Leon, but I think I saw them play one night flipping the channels. It was either Conan or that retard that follows him, but they had a KoL painted on the bass drum. Made me think of Kingdom of Loathing. The song was pretty bad.

I do like The Killers and Modest Mouse though 🙂

modest mouse a good indie band. but i dont like float on. or the way it was released. it just hit me and i couldn't get away from it for about six months. they still play it at places like fridays and chilis.

i've despied indie in general for about 5 years, maybe longer. the most recent stuff they play these days though. god it's the worst. they try so hard and suck so bad.


but then again i listen to phish and umphrey's mcgee. they don't try hard and are pretty good.

I've done exactly that. My "garage band" that I grew up playing with has 2 CDs out locally as of about 8 years ago and we've played the Portland Memorial Coliseum as a special guest for a Winterhawks game before we all went our own separate ways, some got married, and we all moved on in life. It takes an IMMENSE effort to get to the point where people nationally can tell other people "you're kidding right" and act like they're surprised that someone doesn't agree with their opinion :roll:
