Whenever somebody points out the lies, distortions and fundie pandering from the Bush Admin and their allies, Bush fanbois like to change the subject- "but Clinton..." It's utterly dishonest, but you have to consider the source and the ideological basis for the pov, and the strong psychological implications of non-thinking among ditto heads and cookie cutter conservatives. They don't think so much as repeat what their gurus have told them to believe and say.... It's a form of indoctrination, akin to mass hypnotism, based on catch phrases and a profound understanding of the principles of propaganda...

Is that response on the conservative talking points memo? You guys need to circulate that more widely so we can all be on the same page here.

Because the anti-Bush crowd likes to blame everything on Bush when some of it is in fact Clinton's fault.

Thats exactly why people bring up Clinton. Everyone thinks the worse thing he did in 8 years was to get a bj from an intern.

Some of it is in fact Clinton's fault...but by the same token, all of it isn't. Thats what gets me...how is it possible that EVERYTHING Bush does is either 100% right, or some one else's fault? Most people realize that no one is perfect...so when they refuse to acknowledge ANY of his flaws they just seem brainwashed to me. There's just no in between to them.

Of course, I'm sure my point will be refuted by some sort of "I know you are but what am I?" diversionary tactic or I'll be discounted and blasted as a "tree-hugging tofu eating liberal". (Which is rather baseless given my views on gun control, abortions and a variety of other issues.)

If president Clinton had spent more time on Terrorist and defeating the people who want to eliminate the free world, maybe 3000 people would still be alive.

Instead he was worried about his legacy and getting hummers in the oval office.

Clinton was a joke, from Blackhawk down to his trillion dollar surplus.

The truth is comming out as we speak, in the 911 hearings. This Richard, Dick Clark guy has been caught lying in his book today on how things went in the Clinton admin in regards to OBL or UBL and the Clinton responce, which was nothing after the towers bombing.

I would not be surprised if Clark, Albright and Clinton get indited after the 911 hearings for failing to prevent September 11th.

The next couple of months will be very interesting , Kerry being involved with this KC meeting thing and Clinton dropping the ball on Al Qaeda.

This is why bubbas name keeps popping up, he screwed up, and the nation is now finding out just how bad!

From Al Qaeda to the ecomony, his legacy is now being reveiled.

If you can find ANYWHERE... and I mean ANYWHERE that I EVER said that Bush is perfect, I will give you one million dollars. Tell me where I ever said that everything Bush does is 100% right. In fact, I have stated MANY times that I don't approve of everything Bush does and that he is far from perfect. You Anti-Bush people just ignore that stuff and keep pointing the finger. How can you possibly infer from what I said that Bush is always 100% right? In fact, by arguing with me, you are infering that nothing is Clinton's fault and Clinton was perfect. If were didn't believe that, then you wouldn't have agued with my simple statement. But you will just ignore me and see what you want to see.

Uh...ok. I guess I should have phrased my response differently, I didn't mean to single you out in particular...I just wanted to use your post as a jumping off point for my argument.

Most of the pro-Bush people seem unwilling to give any credance to anything bad that comes out about him. Case in point: Clarke, they won't even hear what he has to say. Its bad so it must be lies and his character is attacked...not his points. This isn't just some raving lunatic on a street corner here, he's got quite a track record in politics and has been involved in the Administration of a lot of presidents...and he's an equal opportunity basher. He rips into Clinton as well as Bush. But you won't hear him. You won't even consider the possibility that he might be telling the truth. He has at least as much proof to his arguments as Bush does about WMD and the supposed Iraq tie with Osama Bin Laden, more IMO.

Thank you for at least calling me Anti-Bush though, and not a liberal or a lefty or something. At least thats an accurate statement. :)

I'm trying to be less confontational. I like having decent discussions so calling people liberals and bush bashers, etc.. defeats that purpose.

Diversion. It's the same reason a post about how bad Bush is will pop up in a thread that has nothing to do with Bush at all.

George Bush came into office with a bunch of empty promises to clean up whatever mess Clinton left behind. Now that he's made an even bigger mess than Clinton could have even imagined, he goes back and points fingers. Why the hell did you take office if you weren't willing to deal with the mistakes of the previous administration? I'm tired of this not taking responsibility crap. Man up and just admit that you couldn't fix the problem and that you will try your best to remedy it, instead of pointing fingers.

I don't like to see Bush compared to Clinton, I wouldn't want my dog compared to Clinton but he dump a big mess in Bush's lap and to answer question you have to go back to Clinton to answer them even though some people don't want to hear it
