Why do people have to have breakfast food for breakfast? - stupid

I've never been a breakfast eater, I'd rather get 10 more minutes of sleep and grab something like a pastry to eat in the car on my way out. The only time I ever eat breakfast food is late night after clubs or a party or concert/ball game that keeps me out late. Stop in a diner at 1 am on the way and have bacon and eggs over easy. Yum.

I'm really not much of a breakfast fan myself, unless I make it for dinner.

We do omelets and hash browns etc now and then for dinner.

Once upon a time it was kinda a cool thing at a place called Around The Clock when I was playing with bands.

Was a local place, around 3:30 in the morning usually 5 or 6 local bands would show up and we'd hang out and bullshit and eat breakfast stuff after gigs. Was a thing.

I miss that a bit, in between the bands and wives and girlfriends etc you'd usually have at least 50 people hanging out having fun that had a common interest.

I enjoy breakfast-y foods for dinner on occasion...but won't eat dinner-y foods for breakfast.
I've always been a breakfast eater. My favorite meal of the day.

Pretty much this. Sometimes dinner leftovers are good for breakfast, but I'd never *prepare* dinner food for breakfast, whereas the inverse I do on occasion.

I prefer cereal at night because milk puts me to sleep. I used to wonder why I never had energy at school because Tony the Tiger acts like he's full of energy and it was the milk making me want to fall over and pass out every morning.

Cold cereal is never breakfast. It's either lazy dinner, or more likely dessert or a snack.

You're applying a wholly American view of breakfast honestly.

Search "breakfasts around the world" and you'll see great disparity.

I keep forgetting to have baked beans for breakfast like the Irish do.

I love breakfast, but I'll eat whatever anytime. If I wake up feeling like having spam fried rice, I'll cook and eat it. I'll eat leftovers for breakfast whenever and breakfast foods for lunch or dinner. The rest of my family for some reason is completely against eating any breakfast foods for lunch or dinner.

My "breakfast" is usually around 4PM on weekdays. I'm almost asleep during day-folk breakfast hours during the week. I don't feel compelled to have breakfast foods for breakfast, though I do enjoy making and eating a nice breakfast meal early Sunday morning and sipping on freshly French-pressed black coffee.

Most of the breakfast-y foods I used to eat before I became a vegan (Ron Swanson's opinions on breakfast food used to be my own) are off the table now, though I still love home fries, whole wheat toast (usually dry), and sometimes scrambled or fried tofu while listening to a podcast or doing some light reading. I'll juice some apples or carrots if I'm not very hungry and just have juice instead of a full meal, or otherwise berries or or other fresh fruit.
