I'm working on it... I'm working on it!

I only participate in topics that interest me or get my blood boiling. Of course, those are the ones I'm pretty set in my ways on. But I'm always keeping my ears open for a different slant on an issue. I used to be solidly in the Pro Choice camp about 25 years ago. That changed about 20 years ago with the argument for unborn humans having civil rights. Switched to that position pretty readily. Just clicked for me. I'm always looking for that type of "eureka" turning point. As years go by, they get more and more scarce, but there's always hope and the thrill of the hunt...

I hate to argue it makes me anxious and since I'm not good at being anxious, I'm one of those disgustingly nice smiling people who tries to get along with everyone.. sorry :)

I laugh everytime someone brings up a subject... not even a controversial subject just something they want to know about. Then two or three posts later you got the the guy who posts something similar to:

WRONG!!!!!

and then procedes to tell him how wrong he is.

A lot of people need daily self validation. If they can get into an argument and not lose (which is a far cry from winning), then they somehow find the zest necessarity to keep on keeping on.

<< My problem is there are sooo many people that just can't admit that they are wrong. >>

I just laugh at the heated discussions, during my years at AGN and here, I haven't been a part of any heated discussion. It's just a waste of time. I only read the posts and while some of them have a point and are well substantiated, most of them are simply bias and zealotry.

I don't mind thier bias, thier zealotry. I like arguing and always will but all goes downhill once people start making references to the person instead of the topic. It's ammusing how people start having to call each other names....
