He's getting a bj from the representative from Fiat.

people here are basing their knowledge of cars on what they learned from video games, i.e. the only "true" skyline is the r34 gtr v spec, even though it's been replaced by the new skyline (sold in america as the G35)

Sources say the Infiniti badge will probably appear on the long-awaited U.S. version of Nissan's high-performance Skyline GT-R, expected here as an early '08 model. The AWD twin-turbo V6 coupe has long been a global performance icon and rally-racing star, and is familiar to younger U.S. enthusiasts from popular video games. The car we'll get is the next-generation design. Almost nothing is known about it right now, but upcoming auto-show concepts may provide clues.

It seems like the only Skyline people know and acknowledge around here is the GT-R, which is what you're talking about.

Heres a history of the Skyline for you. Notice that it wasn't always a damn sportscar that every riceboy here jacks off to, like this:

R30 Skyline

The part why the G35 is called the Skyline in Japan is explained at the bottom of the page.

I actually drove one of those old R30 beaters, even with the 4 doors it was fast. All you needed was the triple webber carbs and it would still run down a Fairlady. Those straight six motors were nice. Although I always did like the Toyota Soarer as well but that ended up on the scap heap thanks to the Skyline. Anyone putting the Skyline logo on there car is obviosly trying to infer they are driving the R34. What is the first thing you think of when you hear the name Skyline, certainly not that old 4 door R30 beater.

Guys, the G35 IS a Skyline. It's not a neutered Skyline. It's not like calling a standard Corvette a Z06. Skyline != Skyline GTR. Hell, the Japanese use 4 door Skylines as police cars.

The Skyline in Japan has the 3.5L v6

everyone automatically thinks twin turbo I6 AWD when they think of Skyline...well that is just the GTR trim level

So for people who say 'the REAL skyline is gonna come in 2007' are sadly misguided..they are thinking of the Skylne GTR..the Skyline 350GT is here in the US as a G35

I think you guys need to realize that the performance car that Nissan is developing will not carry over the "Skyline" name. It's going to simply be called the "GT-R" - it will be a totally separate model from the Skyline.

There's nothing wrong with that picture.

I just don't understand what the big deal is. Seems like a perfectly acceptable modification. Why does this bother you so much?

you're wrong. the skyline (R34) was turbo-charged but it wasn't a twin turbo and it has a FR layout. the skyline GTR has the 2.6L twin turbo with AWD. skyline fanboi's were disappointted that the new skyline V35 (or infiniti G35) isn't turbo-charged at all. they should note the fact that it isn't even a GTR model, and the V35 makes the same bhp as the R34 skyline.

as for the Z car merging together being a sad thing... they've actually switched to using the Z35 for most races instead of the skyline. the 350Z/skyline V35 have a more aerodynamic line than the R34 anyway so it's not a bad thing.

and i've seen a spied picture of the new V35 GTR on the ring. i can't find the pic anymore on MT. damn.

NFS4 doesn't give a sh*t about the Skyline.

Holy bumpage!!

Well due to my own thread and the replies within I am now fully aware that the Skyline isn't the elite super beast of a car that it was once considered :( but I still find it personally funny that people badge their rides with things that aren't true but maybe it's just me

In my opinion most people would like to assoicate themselves and or their belongs to something that is considered cool and awesome. Something like G35 sounds montonous and pretentious crap, therefore the desire to put "SKYLINE" a car that many of the younger generation knows and loves from that playstation video game is something that fellow motorists will admire.

NONETHELESS it reminds me of a "mod" from afrotech....

enjoy!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If the owner likes it good for him. Obviousely he has some precidence because the car in some form or fashion is a skyline somewhere in the world. It doesnt look like a bad job on the lettering either.

I say let it slide, its his car, its a """"""""""free"""""""""" country.

I bought an '02 Skyline R34 in Gran Turismo 4 . . .

with 200,000+ dollars of goodies on it it makes 834 horse and handles pretty well. Not the best car by a long shot, but lots of fun.
