Why do people brush and floss in public washrooms?

Yeah now that's getting strange. Course one of my colleagues, he's bisexual, said he wanted to make some kind of porno with me (it was a joke but yeah umm...). When I said I was going to the washroom he sometimes said "need any help"?. D:

Whats wrong with clipping your nails as long as you don't let them fly all over? You snip them and collect all the pieces and throw them in the garbage can.

Where do you clip your nails? In the bathroom?

A lot of people have children who are asleep, or spouses who work later. No reason to make a bunch of noise and wake them up when you could easily just do it from work. Though then they have to deal with people judging their habits when they really have no idea of the circumstances and should just mind their own business.

Brushing your teeth. You're doing it wrong.

People who brush their teeth/floss in public bathrooms are weirdos. Unless you just ate something that makes your breath smell rancid while on your dinner date or you're homeless, I don't see any reason to do it.

Braces are much harder to keep clean and food gets stuck in them after every single meal. I don't usually find I have anything visible stuck in my teeth after a meal. And brushing twice a day takes care of the rest. Not that I have really good oral hygine.

I had braces for a few years and I too never had any problem keeping them clean. Despite what people say, food doesn't stick to braces very well. As long as you have a working tongue, you can clean them pretty good. It was only weird things like nuts that would stuck in them and certain vegetables tend to wrap around them. As long as you eat nothing but potato chips and chocolate milk, your braces will be squeaky clean.

Common, no, but not unheard of. I find it odd but I wouldn't say it bothers me. I knew at least one guy that does it at with. And at a bar I've been to a few times, there is a japanese guy that's always brushing his teeth.

People brushing their teeth is nothing compared to being near them shitting
 
Perhaps they like their teeth and intend to keep them?
Oral hygiene is important, and brushing your teeth should be considerd a normal activity that everyone does. It should not be something you see as weird or disgusting.
