"[OP], make sure to call [Ops] and ask them why the test trade for 1mm JPY/AUD didn't get reported to [EU Regulatory Body]. It's possible we haven't set up one of the CP accounts since it's a multi-payment bundle. You can contact [Ops mgr] directly if no one responds. Just make sure you don't wait because London is 5 hours ahead of us so you should contact them right after this meeting."
How do you perform this action item without waiting for the minutes of the meeting especially when the minutes probably won't have this action item in them?
I take notes on my electronic device.
I have not taken notes in a meeting in a long time unless a training packet is provided. So why do people take a notepad for notes to meetings only to write something done and never reference it in the future.
i want to know why IT guys take notepads....its 2013, get with the program. my boss gave everyone an iPad for christmas last year, i sold mine, bought an android tablet, and sync notes from my phone, laptop and tablet with web services all the time so i have all of my information everywhere whenever i need it.
/hates paper. hate hate hate.
or....
Acting like you are taking notes.
Either way, it's important to do one of the two when in the business world of acting like you are paying attention (or give a flying shit)
To look more important, and interested. But most importantly, for making doodles.
I don't miss being in IT. Man those soapbox meetings sucked. Every Monday afternoon, too. Mondays are already bad enough, because it's Monday, yet they had to throw in this meeting, which was essentially the IT manager telling us one by one all the things we did wrong the week before and basically we had to justify our job. No matter what you did, it should have been done faster and there's no way that's all we did all week. There was no actual accomplishments made at those meetings. I always dreaded going at those meetings. When I took a floater or day off, or had to book an appointment I always tried to take Mondays.
I think you can be active in the meeting for others who want your knowledge in which case you do not need to take notes either.
What Age do you live in?
Don't have nano chip in your body yet?
I take it just in case and so that I can show that I am interested and differentiate myself from lower-performing subjects, like the OP.
cuz some people actually reference stuff from meetings?
