Insist on changing the monitor settings to 800x600.... I mean WTF????

Btw the way this in on a 17" LCD (Samsung 760v tft)

Hahaha, I feel your pain,it's like working with a flock of bats🙂

Wondered about that too. And some of em would be better off using crayons and construction paper from the look of their paper work.

What kills me is the people who not only turn the res down to 800x600 but who also turn the refresh rate down to 60Hz, gives me instant headaches. Some of the old computers at my school last year were set at 640x480 and set at 60Hz, luckily I didn't have to use those much. What I do is turn the contrast/brightness way down so I can just barely see the letters on the screen then I can stand to look at the screen for a few minutes.

The refresh rate thing is 100x worse. I don't care if they run it at 800x600, just crank that refresh up to 100HZ please!

BTW- You all seem suprised Nik responded in this thread. How could he pass up the chance to do some eakers bashing?

one of the great mysteries of life.. at my job these people have state of the art 17 and 18 inch LCDs yet most of them run at 800 x 600 and it irritates the heck out of me. if i have to "drive" i change the resolution while I work on their boxes.

wow, reducing the recolution makes it easier on your eyes? At a similar refresh rate, I'd take a higher resolution any day of the week as to me it makes things much easier on my eyes... I have no clue why, and I understand it makes no sense at all, but hey, I'm a comp dork and allowed to do that
