Why do people always watch movies when they're drunk?

Yup, not the best of combinations. I was drunk while watching LOTR:TTT at the theater and ended up falling asleep even though it was a good movie (when I was sober and confirmed this by watching it the second time around)

Upon thinking about this matter, I have decided it is a good idea to be drunk while watching bad movies that cater to dumb people, because being drunk tends to reduce your IQ. On the other hand, it is an AWFUL idea to watch a GOOD movie, especially a complex one, while drunk. For example, I don't recommend watching 21 grams while drunk.
