Why do parking garages say no parking from 2am-6am?

Most of the parking places I've been to say this. Why?

I left my car in one the other night since I was drunk and got a $35 ticket. Would they rather me drive drunk or leave my car overnight?

Is this a city ticket? If so, fight it in court and tell the Judge just that. Maybe he'll let you slide. If not, let the local news know the courts rather have you driving drunk then leaving your car over night.

It's because the city cleans during those hours.

Parking garages are privately owned and they could care less if you drive drunk and if your car is there when they say it shouldnt they can give you a ticket.

Well the question really is, would *you* rather drive drunk or get a $35 ticket.

The parking garage probably also may not feel like paying someone to keep an eye on the place during those hours.
