Why do parents name a child 'D1ck' especially those with weird last names?

> Yes, but shouldn't Richard be Rich, William be Will, and Robert be Rob?

Rich > Rick > Dick. Language is like that... it changes over time. If it didn't, we'd all still be speaking Latin or Germanic or something.

I have no scientific proof of this but I think the word "dick" did not used to be associated with the penis. I think people who named their kids Richard/Dick 40 years ago had no idea that dick would be considered profanity. I think the word has just recently become a "bad" word. However I know of a guy named Harry Butts. Now why would you name your kid Harry Butts, b/c even back in the 1800s they had to know what a harry butt was.

All time stupidist name: Roger Lodge (blind date host) ---- his name is freakin' Rog Lodge

I think it's more a humor/cruel thing..

I used to have a friend named Eric Lee Golembesky...

It was supposed to be Brock Lee Golembesky.. .

😀

What up Brocklee..

I knew a guy who's first name was Richard and his middle name was Dick.

We used to call him Double Dick.
