Both defence and defense are acceptable spellings.

No.

Yes.

Only in England. If you think 'colour,' 'armour,' and 'manoeuvre' are acceptable spellings for 'color', 'armor,' and 'maneuver' then sure, spell 'defense' with a 'c.'

In America, though, it's a spelling mistake. I'm going to guess that the OP is American, so yeah, he's wrong. But spelling mistakes don't invalidate the post. Peyton Manning will still be able to pick apart a blitz regardless of the grammar level of ATOT.

If you play the Colts with man coverage and no pressure, you will lose. Idiot 'Phins had the ball for 45mins and still lose. <Nelson> Ha ha </Nelson>

Still - Dolphins win that game if the pass interference on Ginn in the end zone is called.

can't blame one play (bad call or not) for 45 minutes of being unable to put the game away. And this is coming from a Dolphins fan who thankfully opted to watch House for most of the game instead.

But that play WOULD have put the game away.

The Colts defender clearly contacted Ginn before the ball arrived. The refs were gutless as usual.

BTW - Bears fan here, no vested interest in outcome. Just hate incompetent reffing.

I guess I need to rewatch that play carefully because on the replay I saw this morning, it looked pretty clean and certainly Ginn should have caught the ball regardless.

It's slight, but I saw it with the sound off and didn't have the announcers blathering in my ear.

The Colts defender is grabbing Ginn's shoulder pad before the ball arrives. Sure - Ginn should have caught it, but that's no reason not to call it.

It looks like he whacked his hand/shoulder when the ball got there. I'll need to see ESPN's footage again because they had it zoomed this morning and it looked like pretty good timing.

Regardless, holding the ball for 45 minutes, converting 15 of 21 3rd downs, and badly outrushing the Colts should mean an easy win and they really can't blame anyone but themselves.

I think it was a good no call. When near the end of the game like that. unless it is a blatant foul, the refs should not decide the outcome of games. Miami had 3 huge drops last night, that was one of them. Not too mention the Miami O line had their hands to the face a number of times that was not called, so it equals out.

If Miami does not have those drops, the complexion of the game would have been different. They need a clutch receiver badly.

The only way you beat a great quarterback is by going after him and get burned a few times. But overall you'll win the game. Remember the superbowl Giants vs. Patriots?

You HAVE to rush great quarterbacks. If you don't, you'll get burned on every single play. As said earlier - they WILL find and complete to an open man if you give them time.

Because Manning is a very underrated running QB. He IS going to find someone open no matter what, but if you put a ton of pressure on him he must pass quickly or run for short (if any) yardage.

If you leave him with time in the pocket it will even increase his passing % as well as opens up running lanes for good yardage.

You just said that he's an underrated running QB and that he can't run. That doesn't make any sense.

Maybe you need to read that again.

Under pressure he's not as good of a runner. When he has time and space to create he's very effective.

Get that part? I just made cliff notes to a 3 sentence comment of my own.

Calm down peckerhead. I think you meant to say that Peyton throws well on the run, not that he's a good running QB. 2 different things.
