...still bring a full Blitz on Peyton Manning, especially when you know he's reading it? I thought we were grown ups in the NFL and didn't do this stuff anymore? How many frikken times has Manning torched a defense for doing this crap and walked off the field laughing his stupid hair cut off.

Damn good game on the part of fish anyhow. Tough break.
 
Pressure on Manning is the only way to beat him. Problem is - like you said - its also a very good way for him to burn you.

The best way to stop the Colts is to get pressure with your front 4 without blitzing. However, the Colts usually have a decent line and Peyton acts quickly in the pocket, so its rare to get that opportunity. So you have to blitz, and hope that he doesn't shred you for it.
 
Yeah, but seriously, you don't even have to flush Manning out of the pocket to screw him up. Just make him think he's going to get flushed out of the pocket and he throws at the dirt.

To give a momentary thrill to the one person who doesn't get it's pun on 'De-Fence' when the defense F's up for illogical reasons......nevermind.
 
Because Manning is a very underrated running QB. He IS going to find someone open no matter what, but if you put a ton of pressure on him he must pass quickly or run for short (if any) yardage.

If you leave him with time in the pocket it will even increase his passing % as well as opens up running lanes for good yardage.

Yep 🙁 I have to give it to them, they exploited our poor OL and kept digging where it hurt. If a team has faith in it's defensive line, it'll try to hammer the other teams offensive line and hope to expose cracks, sack the QB or hurry him into making game-changing mistakes.

Maybe you need to read that again.

Under pressure he's not as good of a runner. When he has time and space to create he's very effective.

Get that part? I just made cliff notes to a 3 sentence comment of my own. :thumbsdown:
 
It isn't that you blitz, it is how you blitz. Most of Miami's blitz schemes are vanilla, their secondary has n00bs, and most their linebackers are too slow (even for LBs) to be in those coverage assignments. Some of the worst tackling I've seen so far this year too.
