Why do my computers see each other then quit seeing each other and how do I fix it?

It's not just one computer it is two on the same access point, they sometimes see each other fine and I am able to transfer files. But sometimes in the same session one will quit seeing the other then quits seeing all the computers and printers and devices, same on the other one. Sometimes they only see themselves only.
I am using Windows 8.1 Pro on both of them.

Do you mean they no longer show up in Explorer or that they are no longer even pingable?

So, wireless I assume. Is the signal strong enough? Does only happen to computers running off that access point? Sounds like your AP is flaky, or just not strong enough.

When those systems stop seeing the network do they still have internet access? If not I would either point at a weak intermittent signal or faulty AP.

It was bitdefender causing it.

Glad you figured it out. Do you have Bitdefender with firewall? Could you configure it to work, or did you switch to something else?

Interesting you mentioned that, as a couple days ago a was helping a guy over TeamViewer and his McAfee program was very restrictive as to what it would let me do through my connection.

I switched to Kaspersky and no more issues.

This is by far not the first issue I have heard of with BD. And I am talking recently as well. Good choice. There is rarely a year goes by that I don't hear the Kaspersky is the best!
