Why do my cd roms crash my computer?

If I plug either my dvd rom or my burner in and boot up my computer I get an "An exception occured at 0028:C14E320D in VxD CDR4V5D(01) + 000257BD. Called from 0028:C182F9D8 in VxD VOLTTRACK (04) + 00000A18" error.
And my computer crashes before it boots up.
If I unplug them my computer works fine. Does anyone know what I can try to fix this. I already tried fixing the registry and it didn't work.

Thanks for any help

Does it crash when you do it to someone else's computer? Maybe you don't have enough power to supply to both drives (VOLTTRACK)? I'm just taking stabs in the dark. Good luck.
