Why do the hot, fun, but somewhat sketchy women that most of us find attractive fall for hot, fun, but somewhat sketchy guys?

I think any women with a guy will complain about them because women are never satisfied. Hence, the majority of men who have a gf will always seem like morons, and those without a gf will always think to themselves: "oh, if I were your bf, i wouldn't treat you like that."
Also, according to dr. Drew, girls that go for "bad" men are those who has never had a connection with their father and is attracted to that chaotic feeling of a male.
the real question is, how come things like programming aren't perceived by girls as cool? I talk to my gf about coding all the time, and the dedication and skill it takes to actually come up with a good solution, she cares only because I do, but I know she doesn't look at it the same way as being able to dance well.

'all the good men are taken' syndrome. To find a good man is to look at the one that is taken or takable 'approvable'.
funny how when a woman meets a guy, the next thing she does sooner or later is get you to meet with her 'girlfriends' and after that day, she gets a 'analysis debriefing' from her girlfriends, approval or not. Though the final decision is hers, so much is allowed to be influenced by 'other' women.
2. needs to feel she's competing against other women? as opposed to a guy that doesn't have any women around him (which she officially wants) but yet if they weren't swarming around him... she'd feel no 'challenge'? and think she was clinging on to a weirdo, less 'manly' man?
well some women aren't like that, they're happy if a guy stays home instead of having all the attention. Probably taxing on her keeping tabs.

Correct! Programming is powerful, but only in the realm of machines! Talk to women about some global economics, something financial related... throw all kinds of graphs and trends that show you know how $ is made... they're gonna get wet.
in both cases they don't know what the heck you're talking about, in both cases you may make the same amount of $, but one they get wet, the other they think you're a nerd. Welcome to the female.
Way to many variables to make broad sweeping generalisations that I see peppered through out this entire thread.

i didn't say that for 2 reasons
1) i don't believe men require as much emotional love as women, it's a double standard, i know, and
2) the thread is about women being dumb at chooseing partners, so my post was too.

I think the answer is pretty simple. The guy asked. I just got screwed over by my ex, but that's not going to stop me from asking me the next one. Try it sometime, you may be suprised. My ex, she was crazy, everyone is crazy in there own way; maybe the next one won't be crazy in a bad way like the last one was though, only one way to find out.

Most? haha, you are obviously a loser who thinks that girls prefer other people because they have a fault. Look inward, son. Make yourself appealing to women and you will find that they become interested. If you can't make yourself appealing to women, then maybe you should consider batting for the other team.
