Why do most motherboard maker's website are slow as s**t?

How can you have such slow sites in 2006?

I get angry downloading a manual from Asus or DFI at 5kb/s.

cause they don't got the cash for it, penny pinching business. Heard they only make like 10-20% per board which isn't much, small margins.

They should have some sites this side of the world then. I get the feeling there is a 56K link between Taiwan and North America 🙁

I hate going to the DFI site. It's so slow. I just thought it was me. Now I know everyone else has the same problem.

Yeh, it's ironic that some of the sites you'd expect to be the fastest are so bad. I've had never ending problems with bad links and slow load times on both Abit's and MSI's sites. I haven't really visited many others as I haven't had the chance to use their products yet but i'll take y'alls word for it.

Yeah I don't think Taiwan and China have quite the same bandwidth we're used to... 😉

Don't know about China, but shouldn't Taiwan have bandwidth? Dunno. Still, you can grab some hosting with decent bandwidth for the profit from a motherboard a week.

It is the same in SIngapore, accessing especially TW sites are extremely slow! quite a turn off when you need to download drivers or bios.

I had to visit the Asus site a few weeks back for a BIOS update for my motherboard. Wouldn't you know it, the link for the file was bad.

Talk about pissed!
