Why do most Linux distributions not have an open cvs web interface?

I'm trying to check out a few things in various linux distributions, and I can't seem to find many cvsweb/viewcvs/whatever interfaces. What's the deal?

Debian has one, although I haven't found a link to it yet (found it through google :p).

Don't know. Probably isn't much demand for one, I guess. Most places offer source rpm versions of their packages...

That being said.. I know that Fedora has CVS access, too.
http://cvs.fedora.redhat.com/

Also should be noted that Fedora and Debian are both Free software-only setups. Were as things like Suse, Mandrake and such have non-free elements.

Thanks for the link. Fedora gets 2 cool points for this, but might lose one shortly.

So far Ubuntu, SuSE, and Mandrake are suspect in the free software department...

What exactly are you looking for? Some firmware being distributed that shouldn't be or something like that?

Firmware that needs a license to be distributed, Fedora's changes in OpenSSH, other various things.

The companies/groups that have accepted Intel's license to redistribute their firmware are off my list of F/OSS friendly companies/groups.

I'm not sure what to think about RedHat/Fedora just yet.

Oh, I do poke around in these CVSes occassionally when I get curious, so knowing where I can view some linux sources easily is helpful. I love peeking in cvs servers.
