I'm married, and never carry cash. Didn't when I was single either. Debit card is so much easier. Now the money part of my wallet serves as a receipt holder, until I can write in in my check register. Sometimes I wish I had cash, and I should since there's an ATM where I work. Just never take the time to get any out.

I rarely have more then some change on me since I pay with everything using my check card or a regular CC. My fiance does carry cash, but I would never take any without asking first.

I just asked The Big Boss if he wanted to go have Chinese food for lunch. He said:
Yeah Mike, that sounds good...gotta stop at the ATM first though...I've got no cash.
He makes 5x what I do, yet he NEVER has money in his wallet. I'm not talking $100 or more...not even $5!
I have noticed this w/my boss, too, as well as most of the other guys in the office.
What do they have in common? All of them are Married With Children.
I understand they have bills and expenses. So do I. But they always open the wallet and say "Damn. My wife/kids/dog/cat raided my wallet again!"
WTH? Isn't your wallet "sacred space" or "off-limits?"
When I was cohabitating, my wallet was off limits as was her purse. You just don't go thru your wife's/GFs purse! It's private.
I'd be pissed if I thought I had money and my wallet was empty.
What's wrong w/you married guys?
That's how I am.Originally posted by: BD2003
I always carry cash around. Its still too useful not to. I find that I'm far more reluctant to use the debit card than cash. With cash, I just buy what I need and thats it. With a debit card, Im too likely to pile more and more cause i dont feel like im spending any more. Not to mention you need cash when you have to split things among friends like a cab ride, a restaurant meal etc. And you simply cant use cash to buy certain "things".
