Are their ear drums not fully formed yet at that age?

There is a small playground for our development like 50-100 feet away from my back porch... With all the windows closed and the tv on, i can hear these little "air-horn" children playing on the playground....

I dunno, maybe i ran around screaming my head off when i was little..... Weird...

I dunno but it pisses me off. One of my neighbors, who is a real bitch about noise, has these kids who scream nonstop during the days when they dont have school. Even when they do, if it's warm enough outside, when they come home they go out and scream. But he's called the cops on the people behind us for their stereo, and he's come over here several times about me playing my bass. Fvcking hypocrites and their double standards.

They're having fun... if there are other children playing they will raise their voice to speak over the other kids... and each of them do this until it's a huge mess of noise infiltrating your house... :(

LOL!!! i am sure you did run around screaming!
I think its just part of the fun, running and playing and screaching like that. all kids do it.

THere is an elementary school behind my grandmums house and you can hear them with the windows closed as well.

I guess they find it necessary to really give their all playing and having fun, its just part of the experiecne i guess.
I would equate it to making noise durring sex... you dont really have to, but it makes everything soooo much more enjoyable! ;)

That's like asking why do little kids run everywhere they go? There is no logical answer, they just do.

I think we should have a national holiday where everyone gets to be kids again. Everything you say, you scream out at the top of your lungs, and everywhere you go, you go at breakneck speed and then stop and fall down on your ass. That could be a fun holiday.

As much as I dislike some kids, I'd still give anything to start over from 4 or 5 years old again.

I think it has something to do with the fact that children take joy in spreading pain and suffering throughout your life.

Aphex you are certainly right about that. I know mine scream like banshees when they are on the trampoline for one. Sometimes they get on my nerves but they are kids afterall and these are the most carefree years of their lives so usually I let them be except when I think they may disturb a neighbor.

If anyone really cares, it's becuase they don't know any better. Anyone who gets excited raises their voices and kids get excited about almost anything because the haven't seen or done it much. Little kids, though, don't realize that they are being loud, whereas you do.

It's just a type social interaction that must be learned. And yes, every single person on this website did the same thing, we all did.

I've been experiencing this since half of Mexico moved into the house behind me a few years back, literally about 5 families in a single-family house (and its a residentail neighborhood, though the police don't give a siht  ), not just couples with kids, which would be bad enough, but grandmas, grandpas, cousins, etc... they must have the house done up like a fscking military barracks, 20 bunks to a room with the downstairs converted to a goddamn mess hall. Anyway, the kids aren't even playing I don't think, unless you consider screaming contests "playing". I need to move :| And take some antacid :frown:

Only if the malls and stores are closed. :p
