Eh, call me lame, but even when I did have spring break in college I would typically just work more hours. I've always been about that cash flow.

one regret i do have in life is that i never went away to one of those party spots during spring break in my college years. going to cancun during spring break would have been fucking incredible.

it kind of goes hand in hand with my only regret in life - which is that i didn't start traveling until i was 23. wish i had started younger.

Fortunately for me, my school had quite the part scene. Thurs-Sun were essentially spring break every week 😀

How would you have started traveling any earlier, assuming that you more than likely joined the workforce full time at 22? Got to have that paper to go anywhere.
 
Education is stages. What you learn in grammar school you use in high school and what you learn in high school you use in college. To be properly prepared for college you must learn binge drinking at a young age. That way you have it mastered when you need it.

not as incredible as working on class projects and studying for tests for 60 hours during spring break

then acing the next tests and getting %100 on the projects, thereby blowing the curve for anyone who let to party during spring break

i worked all through highschool and college. plus back then i was a lot more frugal than now, and going to cancun is not that expensive (if you don't want it to be). been there twice.

i also know people who went to europe very cheap and stayed for multiple weeks, backpacking. one of my buddies ran out of money and juggled on the street to make more money.

and partying at school is not the same as partying at a place like cancun, not at all.
 
The kids in my school district seem to be on breaks at least half the time. They got a full week off for Presidents Day last month and now a full week for Spring Break (this was after four weeks for Christmas and New Years and a full week for Thanksgiving). They also get a half day every Wednesday. I told my sister they can't possible get as many hours as we did on a traditional nine month calendar but she said since they go back the first week of August it makes up for it. Just seems stupid to me.

that is correct.

but considering there aren't even clubs in the US that are like the ones in cancun, let alone clubs that allow 18 year olds in, i'm positive the party environment is not the same lol. and then you have the gulf of mexico which there is nothing similar to it on the west coast.

Yea, because school is boring and horrible. They need longer beaks or else they will go insane from boredom!

You want to know why children are so insufferable? it is because we torture them by making them sit still and shup up, those things are the opposite of what they want to do.
