Why do Jews get thier own race?

Hindus aren't a race. Christians aren't a race. Muslims aren't a race. Why is it that the Jewish religion is considered a race? I've heard someone call an anti-jewish commnet "racist" many times. Judaism isn't a race though, it's a religion. Why is judaism the only religion whose members get thier own racial group?

I'm Jewish. I don't think that Jews "get their own race". I don't see how you can say there is a Jewish race, because race is based strictly on genetic components. You can convert to a religion, but you cannot change your genes. Judaism is definitely an ethnicity though.

"White" isn't a single ethnic group. There's quite a bit of difference between a white person from, say, Birmingham, versus a white person from Moscow. My understanding was that Jewish people were their own separate ethnic group, as well as a religious group.

Because it was easier for the Nazis to explain they were superior as a race than to say "They are exactly the same as us, but we don't like their religion!".

If you want to claim to be better than others you have to make up a reason why. Same reasoning for the KKK or any other racist organisation.

You can also convert to Jew. It just requires you to become an Orthodox Jew I think.

The original and current Jewish definition of a born Jew is someone whose mother is Jewish. Even though the Torah forbids a Jewish woman to marry a Gentile man, if she does, her children will still be Jewish.

The Torah also forbids a Jewish man to marry a Gentile woman, and if he does, his children by that woman will not be Jewish.

There are plenty of Jewish, non-Jewish relationships. Just like there are plenty of Asian, non-Asian, Black, non-Black etc. relationships.

I can't think of any religion that does not forbid marrying outside of it. Only some religions feel more strongly about it than others.
