Why do jeans that look old and worn cost so much more?

THe most I have ever spent on a pair of jeans was $45 for Black Levi Silvertabs. I don't even own a pair of jeans anymore. Khaki and Twill pants are cheaper, better veriety, breath better and keep the boys cooler.

Not to mention I am bigger in my older age so it is easier to find dress type pants in my size rather than spending a premium for "Big and Tall" (AKA: FAT) jeans.

Somehow, I'd feel sorta ghey for spending more than 30 seconds shopping for my jeans!

So, men with a discriminating sense of dress are gay? Are you that simple-minded that you feel homosexual when shopping for clothes? Are you that ignorant?

You guys never cease to astound me.

Because Brigden, Son of Peleus, will soon come in here and explain that $200 jeans > $20 jeans.

No, I was going to post the opposite. For the most part, jeans are jeans in terms of quality. $20 jeans will probably last longer than $200 jeans, but unfortunately I can't find $20 jeans in the fit and finish I like.
You buy 200$ jeans?

:Q

No. The most I've ever paid was $140 after taxes.

Just out of curiosity, what brand?

I've only gone as high as $75.

Theory.

Good stuff:thumbsup: Reminds me of Jhane Bharnes. And another one of these fashion threads and we meet again🙂

as said before depends on wash and what not.

my pair of seven's didn't come worn or faded nor did my french connection.

And my gap girl jeans have nice washes on them.

However, If i were to walk into hollister or Abercrombie, I would pay 75 bucks for a pair of jeans that will rip in various spots/have holes in them/and look like they have been washed 1000 times and fit nowhere near as well as le said jeans.

i blame teenagers with poor fashion sense.

getting a decent pair of jeans isn't that difficult..i only paid 60-75 bucks for my fcuk/diesel/ 7's and my gap ones were 50 each i believe

just gotta know where to shop : )

Where can you get Diesel jeans for that price???? Chinese Ebay???

i got mine at filene's basement.

i'm sure there are similar types of stores strewn about the united states as well as "higher class" vintage/thrift stores who carry designer stuff.

I got a pair of those "dirty/old" jeans - sand-colour "wash" on the fabric. I guess you could call it that, anyway. I'm not a fashion guy.

£10. Still going strong, a year or two on now.

I'm nowhere near any sort of fashion expert, but I agree. I don't understand why people don't want to look good. I suppose it really shouldnt surprise anyone though... I mean with "stick out your left hand...i want to try something" and reading some of the various YAGT's, it's no wonder people dont have a clue about such things.

Whatever though, enjoy the Wranglers.

The Jeans don't make the man. In fact I think the worn look is an attempt to look more rugged or manly. On certain people it works but I'm betting that those guys would look good in any brand of jeans including Wranglers or Walmart Specials

I'm super anal about what type of jeans I wear. It seems as if so many different ones out there just don't fit quite right. The best ones for me now are those from Banana Republic - man they fit just so perfect. The price tag, though, is far from perfect.

I don't know what this world is coming to. The fact that you even know one brand from another raises my eyebrow. And, hearing about "men" spending so much for a label, is just plain nauseating!

hell, my WalMart $15 Wranglers do just fine for me! I have two of those, and two $19 Old Navy jeans and it's all I need or want.

worn, beat up, dragged across the desert behind a horse jeans are just better than freshly pressed pristine jeans that all there is too it.

what you can do an this is what ive done, buy a pair of pair of cheapish jeans. they'll probably be pristine denim all the same colour. then was em loads n loads times, scrunch em up, be really rough with them to make them loose. then i dunno use em to go out play football or something, properly abuse them so they get scuffs, and tears and faded spots. do some diy, or painting in them so u get abit of un removable dirt on them, a few rips here and ther and your sorted.

though buying them pre-beat up is much easier....and you pay for the priviledge i guess
