Why do they need to be so arrogant about their taste in music, and mention everytime that they only listen to music which is not played on radio and whose CDs aren't available everywhere?

OOhhhh wow, you listen to Indie rock. Please let me touch you.

I know many successful bands you have never heard of. I could list plenty of bands that you people will never listen to. I like the music. I listen to a lot of indie punk because I like it better then the crap they play on the radios. I enjoy the energy at smaller shows with a few hundred people rather then a few thousand. Its simply better.

I'm afraid not.

It's pretty retarded if you think about it. You know about a band because of some sort of advertising. The only difference is in the scale of it. Everything is just the same in essence.

They can't be as dumb as people who think that something involving one or more saxophones actually can be called music.

Because they just want to grab a bundle of that sweet packaged individuality, so that like millions, they will have listened to the mainstream band while it was mainstream underground.

This describes all the "underground" music pansies around here. They're worse than the pop-culture music listeners

It's the antiestablishment mentality. Indie music is superior solely because it's indie.

I happen to like going to lesser-known musicians' concerts because they're cheaper :)

I suppose a show could be considered advertising. That is how I know 99% of the bands I do. Because I go to alot of local shows, and by alot I mean twice a week. Another thing I really dont like about mainstream bands is the price of their stuff. CD's $15+, Concerts $30+ (as much as $100), Tee shirts and all that other junk, way overpriced. I cant remember paying more then $15 for a show, and no more then $12 for a CD. Shirts are 5-10 standard, and CD's at a show are $10 or less everytime. The last show I went to I got free CD's. Consider my habbit, music for the poor.
