Why do I need to buy several new sleds for the kids each year?

sometimes, it's a miracle kids survive to be adults...

I don't use a sled... I go downhill kayaking. It's a miracle that I continue to survive as an adult (although I don't always act like one.) I'm hoping downhill kayaking eventually catches on as an x-game sport or something 😛

All the speed of skiing and a small fraction of the control.

Whee, that pic makes me want to -

go inside and have a mug of cocoa with little marshmallows, and sit in front of the fire with a good book.

That pic almost...ALMOST...makes me wish we had snow from time to time.

But then I think about freezing my butt off the other 99% of the time and I remember why I live in the South 🙂.

Hard to tell from the pic, but the only "winter" clothing he's wearing is a hooded sweatshirt and gloves. Wasn't cold enough that day to freeze your butt off... It was at least 25 degrees, if not warmer 😛

Just do what I did and build your own.

I took an old car hood, welded some supports on the nderside, and then welded some car seats on to that. Put a nice hook setup on the front, and pull with ATV/Snowmobile. Fun times. Mine even has working seatbelts (though using them is ill-advised).

It weighs about 150lbs, but I wont have to buy another sled for a really long time.

Oh yeah, dont crash into anything with a sled like that. Very bad.

Hmmm... that's weird. I cleared my cache and went back to the site with no problem.
And others have seen the photo. I wonder why???

I get a "server not found" message in Firefox and a "page can't be displayed" error in IE.
