What other than genetic, causes diabetes?

Failure of the pancreas (I think), and/or a poor diet, especially one that causes your blood sugar to swing up really high at times and then allows it to get really low at other times...your body becomes unable to regulate your blood sugar levels.

<< That could be a seizure. Not all seizures involve flopping around on the floor like a fish out of water. The type my friend gets is actually quite mild, but she blacks out and falls to the floor, sometimes she's concious but feels like she has no control over her body, but usually she doesn't remember any of it. >>

Don't think it is a seizure. It is very short, I don't think I have ever fallen to the ground. It only happens when I stand up or after some running. Maybe I have low blood pressure or hardening of the arteries from diabetes. Yes, I'll have it checked out as soon as I have money.

This happens to me too sometimes.

Paulson, you of all people should know that ATOT is not a good diagnostic tool. ;) Go see a doc, and don't wait either, stuff like that you don't want to mess with. Keep us updated, and feel better.

one thing i didn't see anyone mention was that you may have a neurological disorder due to a seratonin imbalance. don't worry, it's generally not that serious. my gf started having spells where she'd be lightheaded and dizzy, sometimes this would be accompanied by various pains. after seeing several doctors, 2 diagnosed that it was caused by her seratonin levels, while 1 didn't have a clue, and another said it could be an inbalance in her inner ear. you should definitely have a good doctor give you a good review however.

good luck.

<< Light headedness can also be caused by low blood pressure. >>

Agreed, I have the exact same problem sometimes. A little McDonalds will fix that up right quick.

First thing you should do is get checked out by a doctor.

There are many, many, things that can cause you to feel faint. As far as your chest hurting and you say that you checked it (I am guessing your pulse) that doesn't mean anything. It takes an EKG to see if there is a problem, a 12 lead will show if any part of your heart is lacking bloodflow. A blood test will also show elevated enzyme levels to help diagnose your problem.

Does your chest pain change when you breathe? If you push on your chest does the pain change? What makes the pain go away? Do you also get short of breath? Etc, etc, etc,...

You will not get an answer here, you need to see a doc.

My professional opinion (which is worth 2 cents, lol)

<--really am a paramedic

yeah I know I gotta go see a doctor...

I technically should be getting a physical pretty soon...

And no the chest pain isn't affected by me breathing or pressing on the heart area... lately they been lasting longer... but it's weird, it's like they come and go, but last for maybe 5 minutes...

Blake scootin off to the doctor :)

Thanks...
