Why do google apps need constant updating? Like every day.

Just about everything in the core Android install, from google.

google, chrome, gmail, maps, youtube, Drive, play music, play movies & TV, photos, docs, sheets, slides.

I do not know why they all need constant updating.

Do they have to be updated? I don't update automatically.

They have release notes on each app on what they are fixing/updating if you want to read the release notes.

I only keep limited and trusted apps on my phone, so I just let them update when there is an update (usually does it automatically when I charge my phone).
