I doubt I ever will...

I've certainly never understood why women put up with that amount of discomfort just to look good. There are some exceptions, but in general a woman who wears heels often is a woman who will be high maintenance, which is an instant turn-off.
In all honesty, I don't understand the attraction that most men have towards women in heels. It's a harsh, almost brutal, kind of look for all but the most conservative of heeled shoes and I will always prefer the "girl next door" type who is wearing flats and no makeup.

Straight, though my man-card did spontaneously shred itself quite some time ago.
Also to add in: Too much perfume/deodorant/whatever the hell it is = bad.
I'm in a ballroom dance class (need 1.5 credits of phys-ed classes, it was all that fit the schedule), and afterwards, I need to wash my hands and arms because of the variety of perfumy smells that get picked up during the class; I find non-neutral smells to be quite distracting, like having someone whispering in my ear non-stop.
I think the objective of some of these fragrances is to render potential mates unconscious, or at least severely delirious, by inducing mass-suicide of neurons via some neurotoxic effect.
In terms of maintenance - the female figures I knew while growing up were quite independent, so I guess that's what I would expect: self-maintenance; no high-maintenance BS.
Ack, you had to mention ties. The times I've gotten ready for job fairs or interviews, and I'm pissing away tens of minutes getting all gussied up to look "professional," I'll crack up laughing a few times at how absurdly silly it all is.Originally posted by: Delita

Why do girls wear high heels? Is it just a stupid style thing? They must be uncomfortable as hell.
Cause it's hot as hell.
And men wear ties because it covers the buttons.
"I am wearing a button-down shirt and a tie. That makes me important!"
Right. I should just wear a big round button that says "OMG I am so totally professional and important!!!!" and it would make just about as much sense as the shirt and tie.
