Smaller more delicate hands = potentially better fine motor control of hands.

Women have better handwriting, men are better at using axes... it's science

Of course there will be exceptions, I know girls with atrocious handwriting that would be a compliment to chicken scratch. I've been told when I'm forced to sign cards or fill out forms that I have neat handwriting. Enclosed is an example I've created for the forum:

When I was a kid learning to write I cared more about speed than how pretty it looked. I would try to write as fast as possible and developed a pretty ugly handwriting style as a result.

Girls will try to make write as nicely as possible when they first learn, and after a while they can write as fast as guys anyway.

Anyway I really don't care since these days pretty much the only time I every write anything is signing my name.

My handwriting is terrible, mainly since I don't use longhand that much anymore. As an aside, I also have smallish fingers, size 8 glove.

Because guys don't spend hours at a time signing their name, and dotting the i's with hearts.....or signing their name with their girlfriend's last name instead of their own......or writing in diaries.

See, that looks fine to me overall. Easy to read. I think we're all a little hard on ourselves when it comes to handwriting. My handwriting is typical guy stuff though. Not exactly chickenscratch - generally easy to read, but it just doesn't look nice because my letters will be different sizes, and drawn slightly differently each time.. lol.

Writing is slow compared to our thoughts, I think women probably have more patience to get things down nicely, instead of trying to operate at the speed of our minds.

Young girls have better fine motor coordination than young boys. These are the formative years when you learn to write, and establish your lifelong style.

Back in 6th grade, our class performed an experiment. We timed how long it took each person to thread a needle. Boys generally took significantly longer than girls.

I was one of the worst, and my handwriting is terrible.
