You sure about that? Don't "gay-acting" (voice, mannerisms, etc) kids develop in environments (i.e. more conservative places) where they are taught to be straight, and lack gay role models? I doubt they receive telepathic messages from the gay mothership about how to "act gay."
Actually, I did wonder about that after reading David Sedaris's
Me Talk Pretty One Day. From what he writes there, it seems he (and a couple other boys he talked about, from the speech therapy story) developed certain mannerisms, including a lisp, at a really young age, before being exposed to gay society.
So, I don't know.
