Is it simply to draw attention to their sexuality? I mean, I don't think being gay would change any horomones. There must be a logical reason for it.

because they have something up their asses 😀😀

you would talk funny too if u have something up ur ass!

Like your head?

This thread is ridiculous. Some of these responses come from people who: a) don't know any gay people or b) don't realize they know a gay person who doesn't have a lisp or any so-called telltale "gay" traits.

Actually, nevermind. The only possiblility is B.

I have several gay friends, and none of them have a lisp.

It's only the ones that stand out that have that voice obviously.. there are plenty of gay males who do not talk weird. (they are the man in the relationships) heh

Wow I was waiting for someone to say that!

I believe that being gay is indeed caused by a chemical inbalance and having more of a certain hormone can totally affect your personality. I think it's almost like a disease. Just for the record, I have many totally flaming gay friends.

You sure about that? Don't "gay-acting" (voice, mannerisms, etc) kids develop in environments (i.e. more conservative places) where they are taught to be straight, and lack gay role models? I doubt they receive telepathic messages from the gay mothership about how to "act gay."

Actually, I did wonder about that after reading David Sedaris's Me Talk Pretty One Day. From what he writes there, it seems he (and a couple other boys he talked about, from the speech therapy story) developed certain mannerisms, including a lisp, at a really young age, before being exposed to gay society.

So, I don't know.

heh yea that book was funny. trying to avoid s words to pass as straight🙂

brain scans do show some parts of gay mens brains are closer to female.

stereotypes.....makes it easy for the low-IQ segment of the population to figure out who's gay and who's straight

attention whores (no matter what their sexual preference is) will do anything to get attention. i have a few gay friends who talk, dress, and live like a normal people.
