i don't understand why they would not want to get married and break it off. if they love each other why would they break it off?

what happens?

edit: oh and spare the smartass comments, please

Why do married people get divorces? 😕

well at least they tried, i suppose... why wouldn't the people wanting to get married not want to give it a shot and go through with it

The Britney Spears approach to marriage?

Marriage is a commitment. If a person decides they can't make that commitment then they shouldn't. Engagement serves many porposes. One is that it is a cooling off period to make sure the couple is ready for marriage. Sometimes they aren't.

it doesn't always work out. plain & simple

i have a friend who got engaged, had a big pre-wedding bash (known around here as a stag & doe), found himself planning most of the wedding, etc etc.

greatest guy in the world.

well, she up and got cold feet 2 weeks before the wedding. hell we even had our invitation and gift bought for them.

If they were truely in love, the wouldn't call it off. Obviously someone isn't sure about the relationship or isn't mature enough ot get married, or has been sleeping around, or something. THey wouldn't call it off just for no reason.

Because it takes more than love to make a marriage. Some people are smart enough to figure that out before the ceremony.

If you'd provided more specifics, you might get a more specific answer. If you want a female POV, feel free to PM me.
