I'm ~11% BF and I wear shorts year round. I run the streets all the time in freezing rain and snow.

Any insight into this crazy behavior? Does the coldness just not bother you?

fat people generally have more difficulty keeping warm because their circulation is not as good as healthy people's.
So the whole fat = more warm statement is basically out the window.

I wear shorts all year around regardless of temperature and I am not fat. I have always done it.

Maybe some people are fat because they metabolize food a lot more efficiently - you eat 2000 calories and need to bundle up to keep warm, they eat 2000 calories and they're more than warm enough with shorts on.
