Glass is non-reactive with the pop, so it will have the taste that is "original". Glass just does a better job, which is why most chemicals in a chem lab (at least, in the chem labs I've seen, which are admittedly few) are kept in glass containers. The problem for pop is that glass is expensive, heavy, and easily broken.

THe only problem with glass is that when liquids such as beer come in contact with sunlight the alcohol actually starts getting broken down. It is best to store in a dark place if it is a glass bottle or just drink it fast!
Hence the brown glass bottles for substances like Iodine.

Until recently, Guinness Draught was only available in cans.

Lets not paint all beers in a can with the same brush here. :D

Just IMO of course...

They should line the vessels with polytetrafluroethylene.

Polythene Pam Soda anyone?

No taste, more filling...

Coke is to teeth as Overclocking is to crash.
