I went to the post office to mail some stuff I sold at half.com. I use the USPS Shipping Assistant to make labels for First Class Mail with DC. I've sent many small items using this method and I usually pack some folded bubble wrap or crumpled up paper to meet the thickness requirement. I've never had a problem before.
But this time the woman at the counter says I have to send it using Priority Mail because it's not thick enough. She even had a pair of callipers behind the counter. My envelope lying on the scale was well over an inch thick, but so squeezed the contents so it measured half an inch. The requirement is 3/4".
I said "fine." Then I took my package back, and walked away. It seemed like she tried extra hard not to take my package..
