Why do cell phones today suck?

non-flip phones today.

There was a day when there were tons of kick-ass standard cell phones. Now there's none. My old Ericson T68m and Nokia 6610 were both considered top of the line phones at some point. Today, the only non flip phones out there all suck.

Its disappointing, cuz I hate flip phones.
 
Its huge, and only offered by Cingular, whom I despise.

What happened to little phones that don't suck like the T68?
 
how does one "kick-ass" ? The candybar Nokias were big... I love my Treo and it's big... does it kick ass too ?
 
ericsson k750, slvr, samsungs line of slide phones, ericsson T610.....there's a ton, if you limit yourself to ones provided by t-mobile or in the US then you will find less.

slvr isn't even that big. It's thin as hell and isn't significantly bigger than my K700i.
 
I miss my regular non-flip phone. Sadly, it had to be replaced and ALL I can get was the flip phone, which sucks because it decides to vibrate THEN ring rather than ring AND vibrate. There's more about it that I don't like to, especially when there's no point to putting it to silence (that's another rant).

Either way, Deeko, I feel ya.

6230i kicks the crap outa most phones out there... and there are some super high dollar nokias out there that really rule but if you're in the US you will have to import.
 
People (mainly guys) realized they look stupid with that stupid little phone pressed against their big heads, hence the move back to the flip phone.
 
ill sell you my old nokia 8290 with baby blue clear case and flashing led battery

thats why you use the bluetooth function...
small non flip phones with tons of features are still better than flip phones I gotta open to do anything

I absolutely loved that phone and never would have retired it if it werent' for the dying/dead screen flaw. even after it started exhibiting the problem, i still kept using by pressing down hard on the screen, and tape to the back, anything i could find as a workaround until finally it wouldn't display anymore.

My 'current' Nokia 6100 is showing it's age i just can't part with it without a decent replacement. all the thin ones out so far are long and wide (which then outweighs the benefits of a thin phone). the only one i can see replacing it is the nokia 8800/8801, but then i'd need a second mortgage 🙁
 
I upgraded from a K700i to the L7. I like it a lot since I can load a ton of songs on it to listen while snowboarding, at work. etc. Plus, motorolla makes some sexy ass phones now.
 
funny cause i'm the exact opposite. My first cell phone was one of those old nokia bars and after that i vowed to never again have a bar phone. Its fip from here on out.

I have the s710a it isn't a flip and it sure doesnt suck.
