Why do canned peaches taste so much better than fresh peaches?

I haven't heard that song in years!

I sing it to my 10 month old son when I'm up with him at night. It puts him back to sleep and I only figured it out because it popped into my head and I started singing it one day. I better stop before I have to explain it to him.

Actually that's not correct.
They add High Fructose Corn syrup, lots and lots of that swill.

If you want some really good peaches. Slice up a pound or two(small slices) of fresh peaches and then add a bit of surgar, mix it around and let it "cure" in the fridge for a few hours. Much much better than canned peaches.

If your the adventurer type, add some berries and whipped cream(cool whip if your cheap, fresh whipped heavy cream is best). 😀

I can't believe all these people think that nasty syrup is sugar. Bleh. I hate corn syrup, and I love fresh whipped cream! :thumbsup:

Stick almost any fruit in a vat of sugar water and boil and you will have something that tastes better.

It is hard to find good peaches in the grocery store. You have to get them in season and make sure they are ripe, best to buy from a farmers market. I like the canned peaches in fruit juice, the ones in syrup are awful though.
