It seems like all the RUBepublicans act like it was a landslide in his favor, when he really barely got 50%. Even Bush is saying he's got a lot of poitical "capital" now and "the people have spoken". Doesn't he realize that half the people still hate his guts? Oh forgot, he's still too stupid to say nuclear right (nu-cu-lar, HAHAHAH!)

You don't read the news much, do you? Even the MSM says this was historic.

Exactly. It certainly isn't the "will of the people". It's the will of about 20% of the people.

Well, considering Republicans dominated the elections this year, taking President, getting control in the House, and strengthening the lead in the Senate.... This was a pretty big slap in the face to the Democrats, particularly those straight party Democrat voters.

Yep, the Republicans did a great job of mobilizing the Evangelists in Podunkia to get out an vote. It helped them win Ohio. It was very clever of them..you know getting the Gay Marriage issue on ballots and scaring the sh!t out of Ma and Pa Kettle.

People were cohersed by lies and fear in this election.

This election was won by simply one side kissing people's asses to get them to the polls, more than the other side did.

It was the will of 51-52% of the people who care to voice their will. :)

It's because the neolibs have been gloating about their new president for months, as if it were already in the bag. "There is no way Bush will win," they said. Instead, more voters voted against Kerry than any other candidate in history. That tells me that this country DID NOT want him to be president.

Well 51% didn't. Of course 48% didn't want the Dub as President anymore.

And, in the SAME turn, more people voted against Bush, that they did FOR a candidate (Reagan, 1984), in past history.

Relative to the massive liberal hype leading up to this election - yes, you can call this a "landslide" victory.

51% vs. 48.5%...ooo...big mandate. That 51% still works out to only 20% of the people in this country.

Sounds like someone has his panties in a wad. that 20% of the people in the country is also 3 MILLION+ more votes than what Kerry had. Those are some significant numbers... it didn't come down to the 500 votes in FL like 4 years ago...

The man in your sig won by a landslide when he was reelected, Bush just got enough to call it a majority.

But it still works out to W in office. I know if Kerry would have won the libs would be gloating more than the repubs and us repubs would be crying more than the libs. It is like anything else, we stand behind our respective leader, team or whatever we believe in. Then we are either happy about a win or sad about a loss. The demos have 4 years to get ready, while Bush has 4 years to improve on things he has not done well, open borders for one.

I just think things are getting out of hand, because we all know if the shoe was on the other foot, the arguments would still be the same.

When did they lose it? ;)

One can be fairly confident that if Kerry had taken the election, at least one of his supporters in here would have boldly proclaimed, 'The people have spoken and decided they didn't want the chimp in office.'

Considering historical voting trends and the percentage that normally vote in an election, the people have spoken.

And it would have been closer to the truth than them saying "The Americans wanted John Kerry as President"

A lot of conjecture on your part.

Personally, I would've said... "It's time to get to work to solve our problems."
