Today I am 35 and I have spent all day long thinking what a disappointment my life has been.
My friend, that I was supposed to go out with, bailed at the last minute.
It's Halloween AND my birthday and I am spending my time posting.
Arghhhhhhh!!!!!!

Love and Hugs to you, Jimbo.

You'll see sunny days again, just wait!

Life sucks sometimes... for me, too.

My birthday is on Friday. No plans as of yet. Hopefully my birthday won't suck. Last year's birthday sucked big chorizo though.

Thanks for the sentiment people!
I was just remembering back to when I was very young and (my plans anyways) I was supposed to be ready to retire about now.
Reflecting on my accomplishments (or lack of them) I feel like a total looser.

Jimbo:

Happy Birthday. You are quite young with much time do accomplish whatever you want. We all tend to settle into a life that may seem smaller than when we were teens. It's probably not as bad as you think.

Cheer up Jimbo. Most people tend to look at the bad and forget the good. I think you are too hard on yourself when you say things have been a "disappointment".

My Bday is tomorrow and I spent a little time thinking of "missed opportunities" and a lot of other nonsense. Then I realized life is more than a few obstacles and anything can be overcomed.

Well, Happy B-day, Jimbo.

Please don't dwell on the negative! It would be great to retire at 35, but you must admit that there's not very many people who can pull that off. Not something to be disappointed about.

Best wishes for a happier year ahead, starting tomorrow!

Happy birthday boys.

Birthday's don't suck.
It's probably a little late for you to use this tactic but here's what I do:

I tell absolutely no one my birthday, no one at all. That way no one will know it's my birthday, so no one will try to make any plans around it, then there won't be any plans to break. I'm not big on birthdays, it's just another day of the year to me.

Call me antisocial but that's what I do, it works for me. I've had great birthdays all my life.

Happy Birthday Jimbo! Got your party right here it looks like. Things are tough all over. Now watch that self talk, don't say mean things to yourself about yourself. :D

I agree with Noriaki and follow the same suit. Always remember its the little things in life that are most appreciated, so whether you enjoy your birthday with a friend or doing something you like, each one should be remembered for what has happened along the way. Retirement is life long dream. You spend the first great big section of your life trying to get enough information and learning just to start the road to it. Life's too short to forget the little things for which it comprises.

Happy Birthday!

noxipoo, who's saying 35 isn't or is young? Put on your glasses next time when you read. I said birthdays are a sign ... what the hell did you read?
