Why do Americans spell it 'Enterprise'?

Brits use the letter 's' instead of the letter 'z'. Classically, all of English used the letter z for words like 'analyze' because of the Greek roots for words.

So, given that we spell analyze instead of analyse, organization instead of organisation, etc... why do we not spell it Enterprize like it was in the past?

USS Enterprize

maybe one of these days we'll start spelling it correctly, Americans have already gotten rid of all the unnecessary U's in words like color and armor, as well as correcting the spelling of center (instead of centre) or shop (instead of shoppe)

I'll make you a deal... stop spelling math as 'maths' and color as 'colour', then I'll start telling my fellow Americans to use the Z.

Yet meanwhile, a certain group of Americans have started adopting "an historic" "re-ZORE-sez" and "TORE-nament", among other annoying retrograde pronunciations.

And wtf is up with "Process-ease" "AD-ult" and "IN surance"?

Why? Because we saved your ass in dubya dubya two!!

Uh, you know I'm not British right?

I think we (Americans) should start spelling it with a z like we would for all the other similar words. Somehow the Brits got us to start spelling Enterprise with an S.

Also DI-rection, IR-regardless, and to AX a question.

1. We Americans make the rules.
2. You other countries follow the rules.
That's the American way. Which, in turn, is the World way. Why? See rule #1.

Not nearly as good as HAL. He could've made this last a few pages before getting totally owned.

Not surprised at your demise, but I'd advise you to devise a troll that is more wise.
