I saw a clip of Orlando Bloom talking about how he was eating lamb somewhere, and then found out that it was goat (oh no!). What's the big deal? What's wrong with goat?
It's some of the most delicious you'll ever have!
It's one thing to see a cat or a dog as nasty for food, because that is completely alien to our society, we don't generally eat carnivores (not mammalian ones anyway), and they are pets.
But a goat? There are even many American goat ranchers. What makes cows, sheep, deer, oryxes, and mooses okay to eat, but not goats?
By the way, the ancient Greeks, whom we admire so, loved goats and goat cheese.

Along with sheep, goats were among the first domesticated animals. The domestication of goats started at least 10,000 years ago. Goat hair and milk were the most important reasons for their domestication. Goat skins were used for water and wine bottles when traveling and camping and as parchment for writing.

Goats are reputed to be willing to eat almost anything. Contrary to this reputation, they are quite fastidious in their habits, preferring to browse on the tips of woody shrubs and trees, as well as the occasional broad leaved plant. Goats are very fond of wheat grain. They will seldom eat soiled food or water unless facing starvation. They certainly do not consume garbage, tin cans, or clothing, but they do eat canes. Their reputation for doing so is most likely due to their intensely inquisitive and intelligent nature: they will explore anything new or unfamiliar in their surroundings. Lacking hands and fingers, they do so primarily with their prehensile upper lip and tongue. This causes them to investigate clothes by chewing.
