Why didn't you guys tell me another Painkiller was coming out

Looks to be exactly like the original one... but for its price I guess it wouldn't hurt, I'll pass for now, but I'll consider it for later, I still own the original one along with its expansion and I could play that instead.

Oh I hope its nothing like Resurrection, that game was absolute garbage. The other painkiller games were awesome though.

Is this a completely new game or something like Painkiller 1.5?

I'm not sure what you mean, but from what I can gather, a lot of the same and a lot of new. Mostly the same weapons and monsters, but new maps, a couple new weapons/monsters and new AI.

Tried hard to get into these games, but having to collect garbage in a specific order, time, and place got to be really damn annoying. And if you dont do the specific mission objectives you wont unlock the cool shit you need to actually enjoy the damn game.

Serious Sam was so much better. Most of those secrets were just for fun or directly practical, like getting a new item. Not achievement points towards maybe possibly unlocking something further down the game if you did everything else correctly.

Mission objectives and collecting objects? What exactly are you talking about? The only objective I ever recall in Painkiller is kill everything in your particular area, and once you've completed that, the next area opens, and you repeat.

You must be playing on easy mode. There are no cards to be used there. You have to go up to normal or above for using the cards.

No, I played on the absolute hardest mode actually, and there is still no mission objectives that I ever remember.

I realize there are entirely optional secret areas and various things to do if you'd like to unlock a few cards. If you don't like the process of getting them however, then why bother? Your not really missing anything.

I disagree.

You have to play on normal diff(forgot what it was)-nightmare-trauma to get the real ending. I wouldn't say you're getting nothing. Plus it was one of the best games I've ever played, I really didn't mind going three times through it to unlock the ending.

Was that the one where you were playing a demon? If so then it was disappointing all right.

edit: nevermind, that was overdose

Haha, reminds me of the Simpsons episode where the little shrunken old man from Springfield goes into the airport bookstore which is called something like 'The Michael Crichton and Steven King Bookstore'. He says to the clerk, "Do you have anything by Robert Frost?" and the clerk glares at him and snarls "Get out!"

What do you mean new AI? I've just played a bit of the first level and haven't noticed any difference in it. Same engine, graphics, some new stuff, just as I suspected...bought it anyway cause I like the price 😀

So if the graphics are the same, is this or Painkiller Black Edition from GoG.com the version to get? (DRM-free, Battle Out of Hell expansion.)
