codeyf, it is WAY more than a stud finder. Gives you a laser-light level so you can hang pictures evenly, and has a stud finder.

Garet Jax, it comes with a tack-like thing to stick into the wall, and it hangs on that.

It's not just a stud finder, it is also uses lasers to indicate a level. Rumor has it that there's a hack to enable it to power a small country for 3 days too.
 
Seems like it will get in the way of a lot of things you are trying to hang. Look at the wallpaper, tile and trim pictures. It gets in the way of all of those.

I almost flipped when my wife said she saw a B&D power tool that she absolutely had to have. Turned out to be this doodad. I agree--what a great concept! But is it typical B&D quality?
 
$70 is pretty high. I got a very good stud finder at Home Depot for $20-30 (regular price, no sale) and am always seeing laser levels in the same price range. If you don't need the gee-wiz features of a laser level bubble levels are only a couple of bucks.
 
I saw an ad for this Laser-Level from Craftsman on TV yesterday. It's regularly $39.99. On sale till the 15th for $37.99. I know not a big sale, but I think it's pretty cool. You can angle it and it even goes around corners...you kinda need to see the ad on tv. I dont think it has a stud finder, but it hangs on the wall and has other attachments like so that you can attach it to a camera tripod and freestand it in the middle of a room. Plus it's made by craftsman so I would say quality isnt an issue.

I dont have this and cant say how great it really is. I'm just saying from what I saw on the commercial. If I had the need for it, I would buy it.
