I joined it cause my brother has been a member since 1999 I believe, and knew the off-topic forums existed. I wanted a place for off-topic discussion and I'm into computers (though not was much as I used to) so this is a good place. Glad I joined, there's a lot of cool and interesting people here and good discussions.
 
I joined... because I like computers and just reading articles after some time gets boring, its entirely different helping others with their computer and findind out mro than what just the articles tell you.

One thing I love about the forums is that age doesn't matter. Here, people don't always think "15 years old" before reading my post and hopefully take it as if someone their own age said it.

WMC!!!!!!!!!!

Anyhoo....AGN started to die and this forum was a bit more "lively". I needed something to pass the time during my 12 hour midnight shifts as an intern in college. AGN might have a post every hour to two hours...this site would have a post every couple of minutes.
 
I joined because I was tired of the news section on the main page talking about the forums and me feeling left out.
