Why did Rachel McAdams turn down the Pepper Potts role in Ironman?

No Lifer
Anyone know why she didn't want to do this film?

Just saw it last night, pretty good film. Cool to know they are already in work on Thor, Capt. America and Ant-man. Each of the Avengers will get there own film first.

No idea but I'd say a bad choice on her part - looks like a franchise that will have a few more iterations at least.
Gwyneth Paltrow was surprisingly attractive in the role though. McAdams would've sent it over the top...damn.

Scheduling conflicts? For example, Heather Graham had to turn down Rounders' female lead... for Lost In Space.

Thanks...I am not really looking for speculation though. It could be scheduling, lack of interest, money, etc...looking for someone that knows.

Thank god for that!

Also, as far as marvel movies, it's 2010: Iron Man 2 and Thor, 2011: Captain America and The Avengers.

Yep, and the only reason Paltrow took the role was because her commute to work was only something like 10 minutes. She wanted to be close to her kid.

My wife and I met woman who could be Rachel McAdams' twin sister and who was a waitress at our local Chili's. I insisted that we eat at that Chili's frequently. 😉

You make it sound like she's not attractive. Although she could use a few more pounds

She's not really attractive. I too was stunned at what a hottie she's become in Iron Man.

And her early years in Se7en. I was like HOT! Anything between, she looks downright horid despite how much i wanna like her.
