Yes, this is true. I've been taking it for quite a while and when you go off the creatine you'll look less "filled out" and more cut.
By the way, there's no way you gained 30 lbs of muscle in a few weeks. Even if you did massive amounts of steroids you most likely wouldn't gain that much muscle. It's probably a combination of some muscle, some fat, and some water.
Yup, and unfortunately for you if your weight really DID go up that much then it's MOSTLY fat you've gained. You'd be very lucky to gain 3-5 pounds of muscle in that time frame. You _might_ have gained 10lbs of water weight, maybe 15. That would put you at 10-15lbs. of fat gained. If indeed both your before and after measurements were correct.
Re-examine your diet. Highly processed carbs are not good for you except right after a workout and maybe some in the morning for breakfast along with a ton of protein. Pasta, potatos, sugars, fruits are all bad outside of those two time-frames. If you don't want to change what you're eating then you need to do a lot more cardio.
Make sure you're getting 1-1.5g of protein per pound of body-weight (or more) as well per day.
Look into High Intensity Interval Training. It's a form of cardio where you do many short bursts of effort with short periods of lower cardio activity in-between. Search the web for HIIT cardio and you should find all kinds of recommendations.
From all the articles and studies I've read, Creatine does absolutely nothing except increase your size and strength a bit WHILE you're taking it. Go off Creatine and you'll loose those benefits. Any fat lost or muscle gained during that time period will of course remain though. So if Creatine gives you a 10% boost then you'll get a 10% decline when you finish using it. It won't make you more ripped, the excercise you did while you were on it did that for you and would've given the same results regardless. Part of it is also psychological, you might push yourself more due to convincing yourself of an effect that isn't there.
I was taking creatine for a while and decided it just wasn't worth the money just to look a bit bigger and lift a bit more. Plus it's one more supplement that can screw with your system. Too much creatine will give you the runs.
